Elie graduated from UPEI with a Bachelors of Science (Hons) and Fine Arts Degree in 1997. She is from Mondragon (South of France) but has travelled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, North America, the Middle East, and Africa. The initial spark began when she was 9 and living in Baghdad, Irak. She would accompany her parents to archeological digs in the Sumerien desert, when one day, she stumbled upon what she thought was a rock half buried into the sand until she reached to grab it and discovered that it was an eroded terracotta woman's figurine from centuries ago. The feel of the old figurine in her hand along with the blinding sun and the dry wind was one of the most powerful snapshot in her life!
